How to create help file

Post by sudip »

Hello,

Windows 7 is not supporting .hlp file. Can you please tell me how can I use .chm, .html, or .xml files?

IDE is using .html files. So, I guess it's better to use .html file. Can we use SET HELPFILE TO <cHelpFileName> command to use .html help also? (One problem - IE (IE 8 in Win 7) tries to block index.htm of IDE help for security.)

Is there any good tool to create help file? (Previosly I used Shalom Help)

Thanks in advance.
With best regards,
Sudip

Hmm. I am also eager to know these. :)
East or West HMG is the Best.
South or North HMG is worth.

Once had gone through RoboHelp, which was a nice tool to develop professional looking help files (in chm, html). It will be nice if some1 can suggest any open source software which matches the quality and features of a product like RoboHelp.

Thanks Sudip...it reminded me of my days of brushing with Robohelp. I don't remember if it had any basic edition which is free.

Thanks a lot Sudip for the updates.

Rathi let us know which amongst these seems to be most easy & elegant in producing e-dcoumentation. KEL CHM Creator seems to be a good one (and its free).
