About your experience with Visual Fox, you'll find that HMG is more powerfull and easy to use.-
Take a look in deep to all samples residente on HMG, these will clear most of your doubts.-
Finally about report creation, take a look to sample HMGHPDF, you'll find that with less effort you will create the most awesome report, and more.-
