As is apparently customary on this board, allow me to introduce myself.
After learning dBase III as a student (in the eighties!), I started coding in Clipper (Summer 87). Then used Clipper professionally for document management applications. While owning a local radiostation in the 90’s wrote all applications for it (record collection management, publicity planning, radio automation, physical access management (!),) in Clipper 5.2 and Succesware Six driver (NSX).
Tried to convert to Windows at the time using FiveWin (was not very stable in the beginning), CA Visual Objects, even did effort using VB & Apollo, but finally gave up, due to either unstable, steep learning curve or unsatisfactory database browses.
I wrote a record collection program and launched it as “shareware”, which still holds my own record collection and a few of my friends'. It still runs natively under Windows 7 32 bits, but only with some “tricks” (DosBox) under 64 bit Windows, so time to convert to Windows (like the 64 bit version of HMG

Expectation from HMG: backward compatibility
