Disculpen mi atrevimiento (se que no es lugar para mantenimiento de PC's) pero...

Tengo un problemita con una PC, primero se trabo, la reinicie y no iniciaba, la volví a reiniciar y me sale el mensaje de "Error loading operating system"

Apreté las conexiones internas y nada, me sigue saliendo el letrero "Error loading operating system", cambie el disco duro a otra maquina y si arranco sin problemas, regrese el disco y me da el mismo mensaje. Reinicie el CMOS y sigue con el mismo mensaje...

La trate de reiniciar con CD y no me da la opción de arrancar con CD, me meto al SETUP y le digo que primero arranque con CD y no lo hace.....

ALGUNA IDEA???

Hi Polo,

I think you are in a wrong forum pal but never the less, please check your BIOS settings and see if your HDD size and type is detected properly. Try putting it in different SATA/ATA/IDE slots. Removed other cables for other HDD and DVD. Just put only that one that you are testing. Also look at jumpers if there is any to set master and slave if applicable.

Also you can try visiting support site for your computer's manufacturer. If that is a compatible computer, check the manufacturers website and above all inspect visually the motherboard for a sign of leaking capacitor. Look at the top of each capacitor on the motherboard if they are bulging (outward). If you find one, most probably that's the cause of the problem. In that case you need a new motherboard unless you can desolder and resolder a new capacitor with the same value. And pay attention to the polarity if you wish to do a component level repair. Other things that you can try is reset the BIOS to factory default and reboot. Last but not the least upgrade the firmware (BIOS) if applicable to the version of your motherboard.

Another tricky problem is power supply, it looks impossible, no sign of damage but when you replace it the problem is gone. I do have a problem once that when I put a DVD or CD the computer restarts right away. When the CD/DVD starts spinning, guess what, it draws power and a leaking capacitor in that case cannot store the required DC or AC volts to sustain an steady power output (12VDC, 5VDC).

First:
What version of windows you have installed on this computer?
It looks like boot sector of your hard disk is crashed.
Try to load any live cd (linux or windows xp) and look if any data remains on the disk.

Si, puse el Disco Duro en otra PC y arranco bien.... pero al regresarlo a su gabinete, me sale este error... voy a checar fuente y tarjeta hoy, haber que encuentro...

Also try the same data cable from the working computer to the non-working PC along with the HDD.

Now one more question, is that HDD formatted on the same computer? Your working test PC and the non working one, are they the same brand and model? Do you hear any cranking noise on the HDD? Have you try removing other drives and CD/DVD?

Sorry, what I have say is just general problem isolation but its difficult to assume. If you can describe exactly your mother board brand/model, chipset, HDD, memory modules, cpu type, drives and cd/dvd, O/S and service pack installed and your step-by-step isolation maybe we can help you.

How about making a back-up on the working PC and reformat that drive on the non-working one. That's the simplest among other things.

De acuerdo a sus consejos....

1.- Cheque que reconociera el disco en el SETUP, pero como no lo reconocía
2.- Entonces cambie el cable SATA y
3.- Solucionado .....

Que bueno que hayas solucionado el problema. los cables a veces parecen bueno pero nunca te confies en ellos.
