A Perfect System ;)

Hi All,
In my humble experience, I found my clients want following systems:
1) A computer with 2 buttions. One is red button and another is green button.
2) When s/he will press green button, computer will enter all data from his/her mind and scan all data from the written documents.
3) And when s/he will press the red button, computer will print / display the specific report in the specific format from his/her mind.
One thing I forgot - computer will boot automatically as soon as s/he wants.
And as a programmer I want to add another thing, there will be two strong arms with boxing gloves attached to both sides of the monitor, they will serve as error messages!!!
Ok, jokes apart, if there is no user (or client) I might not write a single line of software

So, I am really grateful to them
With best regards.

When I've was a programming teacher, sometimes I've finished the class about 'validation techniques' with a similar joke, but I've imagined some electrodes connected to the operator's head.
Such 'validation device' could accomplish two tasks:
1. Warn the user about the error
2. Attempt to fix his brain

This is super.

Hello Master Roberto,
After reading your comments, I realized your brain is full of positive energy

Yes, for the same situation (event? ) my brain suggests for a destructive blow, and your brain suggests for a technique how to avoid the situation in a constructive manner

That's the difference

Thanks a lot.
With best regards.

When I worked (since 1989 to 2004) at Hospital of Urals Railway System, I often used simple method to ask "stupid" client (doctors etc.; "stupid" in this case is only terminology: "specialist in something; s/he should not understand computers well - but use the computer only as a working tool - eg, telephone...") about "what program I must write to you?"... I said: "Imagine: you have IDEAL computer and you have IDEAL program into it... Program can do ALL what you want (without exceptions)!.. Let's fly to dream - like Arthur Clark, Herbert Wells, Stanislaw Lem or other great sciencefiction writers... And tell me about this IDEAL program - what you see on screen etc..." This method works well - client relaxed and I could tell with him free...
One of our doctors (surgeon - and VERY good surgeon!) surprised even me the freedom of his imagination!.. He said: "The ideal program?.. Yes, easily!.. I just think - and it prints 100 dollars... or 200... That's all!"
I thought: "He could be a great, tremendous programmer!.. He was able to optimize the maximum objective function (rezult of his work)!!.."
P.S. Excuse him - and me too: 1990's was very hard years in Russia...
P.S.S. But the METHOD itself is useful

I use it now as well
