Did you have Arnold Schwarzenegger on your mind? (I don't remember such a discussion)

Too much at the waist and too little in the chest, if so

Yes, Marek, there was a discussion recently (viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1103), where I compared Low level programming as Muscle Power of Arnold Schwarzenegger, but I told also brain power is superior :)

As of now, there is some success in using HMG apps with Wine and I am very positive about it :) . Is there any possibility to use Qt class with HMG in near future?

With best regards.

Anything is possible. I had seen a product called xbGTK. But, it can not even come near HMG Linux version with regard to the simplicity of HMG. If we can map HMG's simplicity with xbGTK or if we can expand HMG Linux version to all the widgets of GTK, cross platform applications will emerge.

Roberto has grown HMG by using simplicity as seed, stability as water and power as the Sun in the ground of harbour. The same seed he had put on GTK too like an aerial root of a banyan tree.

I want to try to run the HMG Linux version in windows too. :)

Hello Rathi,

I haven't used xbGTK. I read about it, but haven't download it. I saw some sample Harbour code using Qt, but it's not for me. Sometimes OOP becomes too complex to understand, at least for me :(

Excellent explanation :D
I used one product which uses GTK, GIMP :) So, in future if we have option to use HMG with GTK, it will be great. :D Personally, I prefer the end user doesn't need to install anything extra other than the exe file (the app itself). But, I understand this is most probably not possible if we want to develop a multi-platform app :)

With best regards.

Great machine, Roberto!
I have two bikes, but no time to ride on them.
Sometimes, when I was teaching my son..

There is a very nice and powerful GUI library for Harbour and xHarbour developed by Marcos Gambeta (a former HMG contributor) called xhGTK http://sourceforge.net/projects/xhgtk/. It uses GTK (IMHO very superior to QT in all aspects).

It could be very easy to create an HMG compatibility layer using preprocessor directives to have HMG on Linux (no, I have no time for it :) ) but could be a nice project for people interested on it.

Please note that xbGTK and xhGTK are different projects.

and...

xbGTK binaries were released in July 2006 (last commit to CVS was 309 days ago), while xhGTK stills very active..
