First of all thanks for the initiative.
But I haven't found it very friendly.
It's slow, the serach button doesn't work and the reference format doesn`t seem very usefull
Also I have found 2 missing items in the help page: "see also" and "code example".

This is not bad critic but my personal impressions in order to try to improve the quality of this document tool.

My best regards
Angel
Angel,

Was my idea to use current Harbour docs categories structure as a starting point.

A simpler alternative could be use the Clipper NG structure.

Perhaps we should do a poll to decide what docs structure is better.

Has do you any ideas?

Regards,

Roberto.

Estimado Roberto,
creo que es mejor utilizar la estructura de las ng de clipper ya que está hecho y es a lo que estamos acostumbrados.
además, la documentación avanzaría mucho si utilizamos eso mismo, sólo habría que dedicarse a lo nuevo de harbour.
saludos cordiales,
Luis Vasquez

I think it is better to use the structure of the clipper ng as it is done and what we are accustomed.
furthermore, the documents go a long way if we use that matter, would be devoted only to the new harbor.
best regards,

I agree with Luis, ng format is best for cross-referencing.
And of course a functional text search function.
I'd like also something easy translatable to other formats, pdf, etc
Also I'm wondering who will do corrections (grammar and syntaxis) to posts.
An english native speaker would be better.
I'm open to new ideas =).
The only thing I'm sure now is I don't like current wiki format =).

Luis, Angel,

I've created a poll to help on the decision of wiki categories structure.

Luis,

furthermore, the documents go a long way if we use that matter, would be devoted only to the new harbor.
As I always say, I'm not specialist in a licenses, but AFAIK we can not (legally) copy/paste the official Clipper docs.

Roberto.

pdf is the best way

Massimo:

Here we are talking about document structure and organization not about software format.
Software format is html.

Dear Roberto,
I think there are no problems with that issue. Seeing the help of harbor at Harbor-project I find that the text is the same as the clipper ng http://www.harbour-project.org/doc/dbusearea.htm
if the sr. Linares use the text of the ng I do not think we will reuse problems.
I will not argue or lengthen the subject so if you decide you do not use ... we will give the keyboard no more :D .
Best Regards,
Luis Vasquez

Estimado Roberto,
Saludos cordiales,
Luis Vasquez

Roberto Lopez wrote:Hi All,

Based on an interesting idea from Massimo Belgrano we decided to add an specific area on the forum for Harbour compiler related issues.

We could help to determine if issues posted are true bugs and then, report to Harbour's SourceForge bug tracker to be analyzed by harbour developers.

Since HMG includes now the 'official' Harbour make tool (HBMK2) and unmodified versions of contrib libraries, the bug analisys should be 'transparent' to Harbour developers.

Another interesting Massimo idea is to have a Wiki to help to create a (really needed) Harbour documentation.

Rathinagiri already added a Wiki to the site (TikiWiki). You can access it in: wiki

Volunteers are welcome. We will succeed, only with your help.

Finally, we decided to, to add a Spanish language area in the forum ('HMG en Español') to avoid 'Spanglish' threads :).

All is already set and working.

Thanks in advance.

Rathinagiri S. & Roberto Lopez.
Hola a todos.

Me gusta mucho la idea y deseo que tenga mucho éxito.

Gracias Maestro

Please, note that the texts are very similar, but not the same:

http://www.itlnet.net/programming/progr ... 3575a.html

vs.

http://www.harbour-project.org/doc/dbusearea.htm

Besides that, AFAIK the original Clipper docs text are not being used in any commercial product.
