Hi, rathinagiri, Roberto & all HMG-people!

About HMG-docs:

Some weeks ago I started translating HMG Help (from HMG Ext. version) on Russian (because - as I know - number of people in Russia who interests FREE software for xBase-programming increased; and many of them looks to "HMG side").

I'm newby in Harbour+MiniGUI (and at the same time my 14 y.o. daugther Masha wants to learn a "real programming" [she looks how I write programs and want to be a programmer - but at school her "computing teacher" only teaches her and other pupils "how to write in Word and how goes to Internet"] and I explain her "from zero level": how write code, what for what, how compile, what's wrong etc. - it's excellent "school for computing teacher"! and she understands me! and she write now her first windows, buttons, labels - and she's happyyyy!!! she said "I want to kiss Roberto and other guys!")... so at first I'm doing it for myself (it will help me to understand HMG easier).

And as result I found that current HMG-Help (based on origin Roberto's texts and "lessons" - compiled to .CHM by HMG Ext. team) is very short... for guy (girl) who want learn it from "zero level" or "migrate from Clipper or Foxpro to Harbour+MiniGUI" (and never wrote programs for GUI-applications).

I expand texts and examples in chapter "What's MiniGUI", added screenshots (what we can see as result in various typical situations) - and now it looks like series of lection for pupils (or "old DOS-style programmers" - like some people on my work who interests for HMG too, but can't read on English)... Now (Dec 7) ready 14 topics (from "Your first window" to "EditBox").

You can look this on my site - start page is http://gustow.narod.ru/harbour/MiniGUI_help/welcome.htm
(on Russian - sorry, but you can view screenshots and whole style; look to chapter 4 - "What's MiniGUI")

May be it helps you a little?

Hi

I read that someone has made some changes.
Why don't you download a copy and try it out.
I still have the problem that I reported earlier.

In Vista you cannot open chm files downloaded from websites because of security issues.

So, for trusted chm files just right click on the filename, go to properties and unblock the file. You can see that in this image.
