VALIDMESSAGES in GRID

In the Browse control it is possible respond to a VALID with a custom message (or no message, NIL).

Is it possible to add this also to a grid ? So for example:

VALIDMESSAGES { 'Code Range: 0-1000', 'First Name Cannot Be Empty', Nil }

This would be very usefull i think..
