The fact that employee.chc/fpt could easily be opened by
a) Dos-based CDXDBU.exe
b) Delphi +Apollo VCL
c) Whitetown DBF utility

and yet unable to be opened by DBFCDX,DBFFPT makes one wonder whether Harbour support for DBFCDX/DBFFPT is complete ?

What do you think of this issue ?
We have some samples including .FPT files and working with no problem.

IMHO, that prgs simply ignore your EMPLOYEE.FPT file (because it's empty and/or invalid format).

Could you make a simple test :

Build and new table with memo field in VFP ( since a long time I haven't VFP )

If Harbour / HMG can open it, surely your EMPLOYEE.FPT table is corrupted / damaged.

Else, this is the bad case, we have report it to Harbour.

My HMG routine can open VFP created tables along with memo fields (both ordinary and database tables) without any problem till now. :D
