Other versions:
<Drive:>hmg3046
<Drive:>hmg314
<Drive:>hmg313
Then if I needed to compile in HMG 3046 I will rename the <Drive:>\hmg to <Drive:>\hmg315 and rename <Drive:>\hmg3046 to <Drive:>\hmg
Manually renaming is also good, my preferred lazy butt solution.
Apparently we have quite different habits to manage HMG versionsfchirico wrote:...

I'm using always "clean install" ( first un-install current version and then run setup ) and always using c:\hmg folder.
When necessary ( very rare ) an old version, for a short time rename folders and then return to normal.
IMO :
- - Installing each version to different folder,
- Using Windows registry for keeping HMG folder info
Because :
- - One of main cause of increasing slowness of Windows is intensive use of Windows registry
- Keeping older versions is a sign of lack of confidence to current version. Whereas except some very rare situations, all HMG releases are extremly stable and usable with no problem.
I'm using always "File association" facility of windows for open my .hbp files.
In short (may be someone do not know):
- - In Windows explorer, select and right click any .hbp file
- Select "open with..." option from menu
- Select Browse
- Indicate C:\hmg\IDE\IDE.EXE
- Check "Open always with this program" box
- Apply, OK
This is very handy way against
- - Run IDE,
- Select "open project",
- Browse directories
- Select desired .hbp file
If we have and using multiple versions installed for using "File association" also required re-define association paramaters and ( I don't know why ) Windows doesn't like this modification.
Of course all of these though are personal; I want only notice, may be usefule someone.
