HMG 2.8.3 (Forum Test)

Post by Roberto Lopez »

Well...

I hope that this be the last one :)

I've made various changes:

1. I've eliminated Set CellNavigation On | Off command.
2. I've added the 'CellNavigation' property to grid.
3. I've modified the original sample and added another.
4. Fixed a problem with OnChange event (Thanks to Esgici).

The sources are attached to this message.

Please test it and report any problem.

If all goes fine I'll do a full release with it.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Roberto.

I'd downloaded and installed it. Let me experiment today.
East or West HMG is the Best.
South or North HMG is worth.
...the possibilities are endless.

Tested.

It's seeming no any problem.

And my two cents : slightly modified ( a little exaggerated ;) )version of demo.prg for last enhancements of GRID.

It seems not working :)

When you change the selected column with a mouse click, value is not updated correctly, so, the release will be postponed again :(

Roberto.

This is my wish only. The possibility of which is a big question mark. But, let me share that with you.

Cell navigation for the grid/browse is a long term dream which had come true in HMG. I am so happy about it. My wish here is, if the grid is having editable controls, it shall be editable like a spreadsheet cell. ie., once you start typing it shall be entered into the edit mode. And when you press any of the navigation keys the entry shall be over and the cursor shall move to that direction. It the enter key is pressed the entry shall be over and the cursor shall be on that cell itself. This would definitely save much of key strokes, because for every cell to enter into edit mode you have to press enter once, and to exit again.

I've think about that too, but, I prefer to get the current basic functionality being stable and reliable to add such features.

Although best candidates for software testing are programmers, good programmers are bad tester :)

The best testers are bad users :D

Best Regards
