Re: I want to be a HMG Poster
Hi everyone...
I'm Ng from Malaysia. I worked with dBase III (later Clipper) during my 1st degree days back in early 80's. In my final year project I developed a library system using Clipper. Ever since that I used Clipper in many projects. Now since many new computers are installed with Win 64-bit, it's time to convert my programs to 32-bit. I came across HMG and felt this is the right solution. I'm facing a problem in the process of compiling my old Clipper codes using HMG and I hope this forum's members will help me to overcome it. I'll post it later. Thank you in advance.
Cheers...

Welcome to our community, Ng.
FYI HMG offers in 64bits too. Please start always with newest HMG version in UNICODE.
We know it's different way of programming in GUI mode when we are used to using Clipper (console mode). It's so different way. My recomendations start on building all SAMPLES demos for recognition of each control, each resource that the HMG offers. You can can use our IDE for compiling even when is console mode or GUI mode.
There is in DOC subdirectory our documentation with syntaxes and same tips and few examples. Take your time and good lucky and enthusiam too.
Regards

Re: I want to be a HMG Poster
Hello everybody
I'm Shiv from India. Like so many of you, I am a happy Clipper user from the last century
I would like to learn how to use Clipper in Windows. I am so glad I found HMG, and all you Clipperphiles, like me
I just started using HMG, and am trying my hand at creating and accessing dbf files with the GUI controls, for now.

Hi Shiv, welcome to our community.
My best advice is that you try all the examples of the SAMPLES folder. It is the best way to learn in practice.
