Hi,

My name is Mike and I work at a Public Library in NY. I started using dbaseIII back in 1984 and then migrated to using Clipper. I actually wrote quite a few applications that usually accesed xBase files. I even had a chance to work with a communications library to connect to the main library branch. One of the other funner projects I worked on was a simple database generator which simplified creating a GUI for creating a browsable/editable database. When the work environment changed to the Microsoft Windows environment I wound up moving away from Clipper and purchasing Clarion/Topspeed for Windows instead and did all my graphical database programming in there. Now that I tried HMG and HMG-IDE, it was nice to see how easy it was to get back into the xbase programming language.

It would be nice to join this group if you have room for me :)

Thanks,
M. Dietz

Well, this is my second try to become a member of this forum.

I´m working with the dBase language since dBase II oder III. This must be about 25 years. After dBase i used Clipper 87, Clipper 5.x.
When Windows dominates the market, i tried FiveWin (an addon for Clipper 5), dBaseWin, CA-Visual Objects and at last XBase++. VO and XBase++ a based on an object-model, so i had a lot of work with less of fun ;)

With HMG programming is simple, you can concentrate on your progam, not on the language. That´s effective. My first program is out, it´s my first freeware and it´s successfull. I will show it in the forum if i can post.

Regards from germany ... Ricci

Hi,

My name is Itzik and I’m experience in xBase starting with Dbase3, via Quicksilver and then Clipper (87 to 5.3) from 1986.

The windows capabilities along with Clipper always interested me and I would like to join to this forum.

Regards,
Itzik.
