The last novice

Post by BeGeS »

Hello everyone.

I am 52 years old and my name is Bernardo. Begin working as developer in 1986 (applications for SMEs) using CBASIC-86 with Access Manager in O.S. Concurrent CP/M and Concurrent DOS, all from Digital Research. When Microsoft won the “battle”, I was recommended to migrate to Clipper (end of 1994). It was a great success, as I allow myself to use the same programming structure, and all much easier. Already in the XXI century I started to have problems of "image" by the console mode, they said to me old fashioned, and I did not know what to do. I tried Xbase++ and also thought about Visual FoxPro, but without conviction. And the big problem has arrived: 64 bits.

Then, as if by miracle, last year a friend told me about Harbour, I tried and... Eureka! This is Clipper 6!

I soon realized that I needed another tool for graphic mode. There were many, but which one to choose? In April I decided that it was HMG Official because of this forum, where Roberto López participates (in addition to Soto, Filatov, etc ... a luxe).

Sorry for this long text. I have hundreds of questions, and that's why I will not do anything: Despacito, as the song says.

Delighted to have the opportunity to learn from you. Thanks. :D

Oh, Serge! Merci.
