At last I reached the harbour
Hi all,
my name is Robert, I come from Germany, to be exact from Rosenheim, Bavaria. So far I have programmed non commercially for my company with dBase for Dos 5,1 by Borland. I have access to xbase++ by Alaska, but use it only in text or hybrid mode. I consider migration to gui-mode in xbase++ very difficult and time consuming. So I googled for clipper and found hmg (thank you, Roberto Lopez). I can further on use procedural programming mode (for me I see no need to change to oop) and I hope I can migrate to gui much easier than with xbase++.
Next year I will retire (I am 64) and so I hope I can leave some of my apps to my mates in a new style.
xbase++ is a good choice for professional programmers. I tried to import ascii files into dbf with "sdfdbe", so far to no avail. But I will search in this forum and will create a special topic iif necessary.
Glad to have found you.

Re: At last I reached the harbour
Right now I'm stumbling through the online tutorials. I've never used any IDE, but I am quite sure hmg-IDE was made for the kinds like me.
