Harbour MiniGUI Extended Edition build 17.04 is published

Post by gfilatov »

Hi Friends,

I am glad to announce a new version of Harbour MiniGUI Extended Edition.

A setup of the build 17.04 for Borland C++ 5.5.1 is published at the
following URL:

http://hmgextended.com/files/CONTRIB/hm ... -setup.exe

There are also an extra xHarbour.ORG-based archive for this build and
self-extracting archive for free Embarcadero C++ 10.1 Berlin compiler
and Harbour 3.2.0dev at the Minigui's download page.

It is possible to prepare the Minigui Ex builds also for the following
C-compilers by your request:

- MinGW 6.3.0 32-bit and Harbour 3.4.0dev;

- MinGW 6.3.0 64-bit and Harbour 3.4.0dev;

- MS Visual C 2015 32-bit and Harbour 3.2.0dev;

- PellesC 8.0 and xHarbour 1.2.3 build 10193.

It is a regularly scheduled maintenance release.

This release is considered stable and ready for production use.

Thanks for your attention and support!
Kind Regards,
Grigory Filatov

Hi gfilatov, thanks for the latest version of MiniGUI.

I use MiniGUI for my application as I need WinPrint Preview which has more options like zoom level extra. Also I learnt a lot from samples of MiniGUI, which are of nearly all features of HMG.

One query. Since MiniGUI is based on HMG, I assume, as I find lots of samples in MiniGUI folder which are here in the Forum, does the latest MiniGUI support Unicode ?

Please advise me if I am wrong somewhere.

Regards,

Anand

Hello Anand,

Thanks for your interest and kind words :!:

MiniguiEx have not an Unicode support because it is no need for the latin or cyrillic based languages (in Europe and USA).
The DBF format also have a bad support for Unicode AFAIK. :?

But it is possible to add the Unicode support to MiniGUI in the future similar as it was made in HMG by Dr. Claudio Soto :o

Hi Grigory,

Do you think that it is easy or possible to add BUTTONEX in HMG?

Hi Grigory
Great Job !!!
Thanks for everything you do
Hoping that Unicode support to minigui can be added in the future
This would be of great use for Arabic and Hebrew interfaces

+1
I am on board with Serge on this one 100%.
The buttonex control for me is INVALUABLE. I use it with MiniGUI all the time in all of my apps.It can truly change the way your app is being displayed.I'll prepare a small form template we use with a truly flat design, which we use for tablets and you guys can see and judge.

Edit:
I've added a small form template with flat design using ButtonEX. It can be compiled only with MiniGUI but i've included the exe file in case someone just wants to check it out.

We use tablets with windows OS Serge, so we don't have to change anything. We just use dynamic resolutions so it can fit the tablet's screen.
