Why 3 different version of HMG?

Post by mbelgrano »

HMG have 3 distribution: hmg,hmg extended,oohg
Is not possible merge either product?
What is present in HMG extend (http://www.hmgextended.com/) that is not present in HMG http://harbourminigui.googlepages.com/?
This featuture can be usefull also for HMG user
similar question also for other minigui derivation oohg (http://www.oohg.org/english/) that simply add a oop to minigui.

A big comunity will have a better service, and a better assistance, better visibility

And sans doubt harder manageability :!:

You may find an answer to your question here, under the title

What about other MiniGUI based projects... ?
Why do not all MiniGUIs guys unite and work together ?

Hello Massimo,

I wish it also. :)

I first started with HMG Extended. After a few months I joined HMG Forum as I heard from my friend CCH.

I got lots and lots of help from Grigory Filatov both for HMG Extended and HMG. I used both HMG and HMG Extended.
My HMG Extended apps have common codes for HMG and HMG Ext. I found that HMG Ext IDE can open forms created with HMG IDE, but HMG IDE can't open forms (with common features only) created with HMG Exd IDE, correctly.

I have lots of personal discussion with Esgici and from that discussion I was able to concentrate on one. :)
My another friend CCH also helped me to keep my focus on Minigui (both official and ext) and not to try with other software tools like Delphi, Java, VB.net etc :)
I tried and tested every new version of HMG Ext also and read Minigui Yahoo Group regularly. I also followed your posts in Minigui Yahoo Group and read Mr. Kubica's answer regarding this ;) I am also a great admirer of HMG Ext.

I never used OOHG. So, I can't say anything about it.

Both HMG and HMG Ext are very good. I use HMG mostly :)

IMHO, it may be very difficult to have common Minigui platform now. :( If it is possible, I shall be very happy :D

With best regards.
