The clicked link to open in new page

Dear Rathi,

Is it possible to change default behaviour when we click in URL (links) for opening others pages in a "new" tab/section (not in the same page) ?

I know if we click with right mouse button, you can choose to open in a tab or new window, but if we neglect as we commonly we do with just clicking (left mouse button) will open in the same tab I some times we loose part what we have doing... Is it possible to change in the forum system ?

Another question, is when we click for replay a topic, the new message will be ready to compose the message, but in subject field is coming with "Re: " and IMHO I see no uses of this. It is also possible to remove this ?

Yes. But as I said, I use wrongly normal click... probably I need change my habits... I never use scroller as button...

So please considere as suggestion of it.

Actually this is the normal behavior of the browser and I don't think PHPBB will have some option for this. I will try though.

Please look up many other sites you will see that normal behaviour is to open in a new tab. Please try to reconsidere and what can be do for our forum system.

Sorry, for the purpose of citing two items to my request forgot I had this topic with the same request, should have it done in the existing topic separately.

I had made some modifications to accommodate links entered as such without [ url ] bbcode.

Please use [ exturl ] bbcode if you want bbcode url.

Example:

Code: Select all

First method: Just enter the url as such.

http://google.com

Second Method:

[exturl=http://google.com]Just a link to google[/exturl]

It will be shown like this:

http://google.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Just a link to google
