May be same thing MS did with Foxpro to promote VB

For large application may be Postgresql will be the preferred DBMS and for smaller one Sqlite.

If you take a look at this:

Maybe, support for 5.0 is finished because current version is 5.1 and there is a preliminary release of the 5.5 version to download...

Maybe, support for 5.0 is finished because current version is 5.1 and there is a preliminary release of the 5.5 version to download...

You'll find 6.0 alpha.

If you read carefully the article title it states: 'GoddBye to MySql 5.0' not 'GoodBye To MySql'
