Dear,
I believe that the DBA has much potential. As all tool, he/she has a beginning and later they leave supplementing more things, time at the time.
You can that it interests you to receive contributions, that would be a form of going advancing quicker in the improvements of the software and I also believe that they would have interested in contributing their grain of sand.

First, thanks :)

Second, I agree with you, if DBA can be an open source project, it will go more improved and useful.

Unfortunately, I have many drawbacks for achieve this.

First, writing a program and managing a software project are fully different jobs and I haven't any ability on managing side.

Second, I wrote it for my personal needs, added something time to time and when it been usable I want to share. So DBA hasn't an adequate project architecture. Everything is partial and very difficult keeping together these parts. You may can't believe, but I afraid for adding or modifying, even changing anywhere, any thing.

Third, in open-sources side management is highly different. By randomly adding parts by anyone at any time may quickly expand, even spawn and make it unmanageable.

Moreover, by adding features for personal needs and preferences, project may goes away from its main goals.

In brief, beside all of these, if I found a true leader ( like Roberto ;) ) I'll give him all source code of DBA with pleasure even honor. For example ( as suggested by jrendon a little time before in the forum ) adding a database management tool to HMG-IDE may be interesting.

Again thanks for your nice approach and suggestion.

Saludos Cordiales

Hola Luis

I am thinking implementing it with other SET commands: AUTOPEN, EXCLUSIVE, EXACT, EPOCH, CENTURY, DATEFORMAT, DELETED, LANGUAGE etc.

If I'll have enough time and energy :(
