Re: MySql revisited

Same problem with dbfs. You can't lock a dbf when there's user interaction because the user can go get a cofffe, leaving everyone else out. So the first sale gets an ok and the second gets an error (out of stock). The problem is not of the type of database, it is of analysis. In this case the tools...

Re: MySql revisited

I can understand your frustration. Databases like MySql,SQL server etc. don't have the need to lock records in order to insert or update data. And you wouldn't want to do that to be honest unless we are talking about some very niche situations. Using an autoincrement field as your primary key in sq...

Re: MySql revisited

I do not understand anything. Regardless of the language or database type, a record must be blocked for modification. Otherwise, two users could modify it at the same time and the data of the last one would save the record. And blocking the whole database to add a phone number, for example, seems ex...

Re: How do i call a procedure

Bernardo, you have not discouraged me to use IDE, maybe I'm just too "simple minded" to use it, and though I am not using it, it is very helpful to have a look at it in the samples, and so thanks to Roberto Lopez for giving us such a tool. Completely agree with you. For those of us who are learning...

Re: How do i call a procedure

Bernardo, you got me wrong, I didn't mean to use IDE as Development Environment, but when I create a project, write my own code and all that stuff in the same folder, and then press run, I expect all the stuff in that folder is compiled and linked. I tried to use IDE to "write" an app, I simply gav...

Re: Hi, how do I execute the loop by step with a one-button condition using for / next or while

Press: Start loop then Pause then Interfere and finally again Pause. Interfere has closed DBF which is used in JLOOP. Serge Yes, but if you do not press the button "Interfere", they will not close, right? My question is oriented to which events are activated. Only those of the window "mathematica" ...

Thank you for the advice, creating a project by IDE and building the .exe will do this for me, right?

Robert
:)

Using IDE is a personal choice.

I'm too heterodox as programmer, so I do not even consider using IDE.

DO EVENTS is great, but it can interfere with other functions, so be carefull...

Serge
What is the scope of the DO EVENTS command?
In other words, what functions can it affect?

Re: How do i call a procedure

my app is still a small one, but growing, so I will go the same way. The listed code is just an excerpt for playing around. The additional prg files have no main function, right? And the prg-files must be noted in hbp? Rob, this is so because it is not several autonomous programs that come together...

Ok Serge. That must be what Jair wants. Or in any case, a very similar thing.

P.S.: I just discovered the use of DO EVENTS. ;)
