I don't think it's possible to omit login screen.
Everytime you log in to the forum, you get session id. If you do not use forum for few minutes, this session id dies and you need to log in again.
This session id is passed by php scripts from start page to the next.

Server compiled by me runs as daemon, but leaves console screen. How can I hide console screen?

A little success!
I've compiled newest version of LetoDB by elch downloaded from GitHub.
It looks indexes works OK in this version.
I'll test it again :) and I'll report, maybe it will be useful for somebody...
