Re: SAY AND GET

What is the difference between REQUEST & #Include? a 'REQUEST' is a statement directed to the linker that demands to link the requested modules while an '#include' is a directive to the compiler (in fact to the pre-processor ) that instructs him to incorporate a source file exactly in place where t...

Re: Variables and Definition Errors

Hi,

the type of value in a label must be character, maybe this causes the error.
I assume the value of record number is numeric.

The runtime errors of hmg are sometimes very puzzling

But, I am quite a newbie too.

Re: Variables and Definition Errors

Going back to the DATA_BOUND example, the line "Win_1.Add1.Refresh" where Win_1 is the Window name and "Add1" is the Textbox name (I've changed them for my purposes), am I correct in saying that "refresh" refreshes the value of the textbox? In each case the textbox refers to a database FIELD but I ...

Re: Variables and Definition Errors

Hi Alan, see the following sample from Data_Bound, I have changed it to match my needs (change an existing record and write the changes to dbf): #include "hmg.ch" local cPersnr set navigation extended use DEFINE WINDOW form_chg ; AT 0,0 ; WIDTH 600 ; HEIGHT 480 ; TITLE 'Stammdaten Fahrer bearbeiten'...

Hi Alan, take a look at DATA_BOUND in the samples, the screenshot shows the path in your installation-folder. I fancy you could use it for your app.

Re: flagship

Robert, Did you try the free test version? Hard to believe that no changes are needed..! Serge Hi Serge, No I didn't, in older publications they offered free versions for students, but no longer do so, I gave them a call last summer. Besides, you can't take benefits from the enhancements that were ...

flagship

Dear friends, has anybody experience with flagship by multisoft? They promise a migration from DOS to GUI without changing your clipper-code. http://www.fship.com/vfs.html No, I do not intend to go flagship, I just would like to know. BTW, it's commercial, not freeware. And what are the advantages o...
