Re: How does the /d build option work

To the HMG community who helped out. I installed Pablo Cesar's version of build.bat into the HMG.3.4.3 directory then wrote the humble batch file below to use whenever I want to compile with the /d option. Tested and works just fine now. cls rem rem Use this batch file to input a file to be compiled...

Re: How does the /d build option work

Thanks to all who responded. I now consider it to be my own lack of understanding the HMG contents. There are several different files called build.bat and also a compile.bat. I don't understand why there is that compile.bat though and when to use it. I now realize that I was using the same build.bat...

Re: How does the /d build option work

Finally a response. I still cannot use debug - the /d parameter causes build.bat to make a new file that it calls d.exe. I looked at the build.bat file that I have and there are no batch lines in it that try to interpret the /d option. I must have the wrong batch file or perhaps there is a setup pro...

How does the /d build option work

After build.bat /d someprg.prg, the result on my system (ver 3.4.3 or the new 3.4.4) is aaan exe file called d.exe

Can somene explain how the /d works and how the debugger gets connected so I can try to resolve this problem.

Thanks you

Re: compiling with debug option

Mr Dragabcescu I my have responded incorrectly and failed to answere you question. All I see above in my reply is the weather question about your country that I do intend to visit this summer :) My version is 3.4.3 Is it possible that the build.bat cannot interpret the /d as an option, but thinks it...

I want to learn to use the debugger, so I just tried to follow th HMG Doc file

When I tried compiling with the debugger option as per the Doc file by Mr. Soto

ex build /d myprogram.prg

I end up with an exe file called d.exe

Re: What is a method

Enjoyed reading the explanation. Learned a lot of the GUI idea. I started in assembler language before Clipper, so you can guess that gui is
was a strange idea to grasp.

My problem is in trying to see the difference between the methods and the functions as listed in HMG REFERENCE

Backcolor and fontcolor for labels do not show as expected

HMG mentors When I create a loop to make a matrix of labels, the background and font colors do not appear right away when the labels are defined. I had to create a additional loop to force the colors out. Does anyone know why. In the code you will see a simple label called "color1" that works proper...

What is a method

Dear Friends

There are several so called "methods" listed in HMG reference and there is also a "DO Method" command.
